I’m a mathematician. My research focuses on the connections between homotopy theory, algebra, and geometry.
Some of the problems that I’ve worked on have their origins in certain areas of mathematical physics (e.g. formal deformation quantization and topological field theory.)
Here is my CV.
My current academic appointment is: Associate Professor of Mathematics (with tenure) at the University of Nevada, Reno.
My prior appointments include a three year postdoctoral research fellowship at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Göttingen.
I received my Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. My thesis was supervised by John Baez.
Outside of doing math, I occupy my time with bicycles, cats, hiking, art, and music. My spouse is also a professor at UNR in the Department of Theatre and Dance.
