My research focuses on the connections between homotopy theory, algebra, and geometry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">Some of the problems that I&#8217;ve worked on have their origins in certain areas of mathematical physics (e.g. formal deformation quantization and topological field theory.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">My research is supported by the National Science Foundation grant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=2305407&amp;HistoricalAwards=false\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=2305407&amp;HistoricalAwards=false\">DMS-2305407<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">Here\u00a0is my <a href=\"http:\/\/hoalg.net\/chrisrogers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/CRogers_CV_current.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/hoalg.net\/chrisrogers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/CRogers_CV_current.pdf\">CV. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">My current academic appointment is: Associate Professor of Mathematics (with tenure) at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unr.edu\/math\/\">University of Nevada, Reno<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">My prior appointments include a three year postdoctoral research fellowship at the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-goettingen.de\/en\/20693.html\">Mathematics Institute<\/a>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-goettingen.de\/en\/1.html\">University of G\u00f6ttingen<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">I received my Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. My&nbsp;thesis&nbsp;was supervised by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/math.ucr.edu\/home\/baez\/\">John Baez<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">Outside of doing math, I occupy my time with bicycles, cats, hiking, art, and music.
